WHO WE ARE
When GolfSwitch was founded in 1998 by a team of golf, travel and technology professionals, the golf reservation industry was highly inefficient for golf courses, tee time resellers and consumers.
The process of finding and booking tee time reservations often required multiple phone calls and time-consuming manual procedures. Golf courses were challenged with increasing tee time inventory yields and finding new ways to attract customers – without breaking the bank. The ability for tee time resellers to market and sell golf reservations was hindered by the prevalence of closed architecture tee sheet software programs –preventing easy access to golf courses and their tee time inventory.
Despite the considerable size of the golf reservation business – over $20 billion in 2002 – no company had offered a solution that created value for all members of the golf community – until now.
GolfSwitch had a new vision for the golf industry – a global golf network that eliminated software conflicts, increased tee time yields for golf courses and enabled profitable relationships between buyers and sellers of tee times and golf vacations.
We believed the golf industry needed standardization – a common platform based on open architecture – so that all golf courses could communicate, interact and respond to customers and business partners in real time, on a 24/7 basis. It would have to be scalable and universal. It would have to create new, real-time marketing and distribution channels for golf courses, and new, more efficient ways for consumers to find and book tee times anywhere, anytime.
This network is called the GolfSwitch Network, and today, it’s the largest tee time marketing network in the world.
WHAT WE DO
So what does GolfSwitch do? We provide the software and technology that power the GolfSwitch Network. We ensure that our network is scalable and secure for our clients and their business partners. But we don’t stop there. We provide customized marketing services to all clients, helping them to choose the right business partners, attract new customers and maximize profits. The foundation of the GolfSwitch Network is a standardized communications
platform that enables real-time access to over 40 tee sheet software programs – representing 95% of all automated golf courses in the United States and Europe. The patented GolfSwitch technology features universal tee sheet compatibility, advanced tee time search and booking capabilities, unlimited distribution channels and comprehensive golf content from around the world in one unified system.
For golf courses and Internet sites, we provide WebPro, a private-label, browser-based booking engine that enables virtually any Internet web site to book online tee times. Golf course web sites, travel and sports sites, and newspaper sites can now market and sell tee time reservations to their customers – using their own brand name – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
For the travel and hospitality industry, Direct Access is a Windows-based software program that enables hotels, reservation centers and travel professionals to access and book real-time tee times at multiple courses simultaneously. This feature-rich reservation system also allows our clients the ability to integrate trip schedules on the fly for their customers.
Recognizing the need to provide a comprehensive solution for golf reservations, PhonePro makes real-time tee times accessible to non-Internet users. This voice-recognition reservation system is the first of its kind in the golf industry, and it helps our golf course clients increase customer service levels and reduce costs by providing their customers with real-time access to a single golf course or a cluster of courses via one phone number. It is seamlessly integrated into the GolfSwitch Booking Engine and can be used in conjunction with a call center facility, providing any golf course with a flexible, “always on” telephony solution.
In response to customer requests, we’ve added the GolfSwitch Golf Vacation Booking Engine to our comprehensive list of marketing services. In addition to collecting a fee for tee time bookings, our partners can earn even higher profits from their web sites with this simple and seamless solution for selling air, hotel and car rental reservations through the GolfSwitch Network.
To help our golf course clients more effectively market and sell tee time inventory, we’ve recently introduced the GolfSwitch Special Tee Time Booking Engine, which features dynamic pricing and the ability to allocate and distribute discounted tee time inventory through new and unique marketing channels.
